Established in 2003, Nanjing Hongguang General Aviation Equipment Technology Co., Ltd. is affiliated with the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC), with its predecessor tracing back to a key national "First Five-Year Plan" project supported by the Soviet Union in 1951. Specializing in the R&D and manufacturing of airborne airdrop equipment and aviation sports gear, the company has served as a designated hot air balloon R&D unit for the General Administration of Sport of China and AVIC since 1984. It has successively developed China's first hot air balloon, first hot air airship, first mountain glider, and first high-rise rescue parachute, and received special commendation in 2003 for its participation in the manned spaceflight program.
As of 2025, the company holds over 60% of the domestic market share for drone recovery systems, leading industry development while collaborating with high-speed target drone units to develop new recovery devices and advancing the R&D of drone airdrop rescue systems. Its product line covers standard, custom-shaped, and spray-painted hot air balloons, tow parachutes, mountain gliders, high-rise rescue parachutes, and powered parachutes. These products are widely used in tourism, advertising, aviation sports, aerial surveying, and photography, with export products meeting international standards to fulfill the needs of users across multiple industries and levels.
